About Me

My Story

My journey into massage therapy began over two decades ago in Colombia, sparked by a conversation that would ultimately shape my professional path.

At the time, I was teaching confirmation classes to youth at my local church when I met Gloria, a friend preparing to move to Canada. She had studied esthetics to enhance her career opportunities abroad, and her story inspired me to pursue the same path. That very afternoon, I enrolled in esthetics school.

In Colombia, esthetics is a comprehensive discipline. My training encompassed facial and body treatments, acne care, social and permanent makeup, and body contouring massage. For two years, I worked in esthetic care, developing a strong foundation in client service and hands-on technique.

In 2005, I relocated to the United States and began a new chapter—pursuing formal education in massage therapy. The transition was not without challenges. I encountered language barriers, limited access to Spanish-language instruction, and logistical obstacles such as transportation and financial constraints. At the time, the licensing exam was only offered in Austin, and I was uncertain whether it could be taken in Spanish.

Despite these hurdles, I enrolled in a massage therapy program, studying with borrowed books and materials. I arranged transportation with classmates and often waited outside the school for evening pickups. Communication with the school’s director—Erika, a German educator—was initially difficult, but over time, our collaboration became a source of mutual respect and growth. My determination and positive attitude helped me succeed.

As part of my training, I completed the required administrative internship hours in a massage therapy clinic. My performance received strong commendation from both staff and instructors, and I was the only student in my class to graduate with distinction.

“I believe every therapist deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or language. My mission is to empower others through practical training, cultural understanding, and professional growth.”

Over the years, I’ve observed a concerning shift: continuing education has become almost entirely virtual. Yet massage therapy is a tactile, hands-on profession. You cannot learn to assess muscle tension or apply therapeutic pressure through a screen. That’s why I created this platform—to return continuing education to its roots: in-person, practical, and personalized.

My goal is simple: when you leave my class, you’re not just certified—you’re prepared to practice. Because in massage therapy, confidence comes from doing—not just knowing.
